A Beautiful day in Mottarone

The other day my German colleague came with such a great idea... to go to the mountain together one day in the weekend. I am always up for doing day trips away so looked at the weather forecast and choose Saturday as it promised sunshine. 

So, yesterday we took her car and went to Mottarone (in Piemonte) which is a mountain in the western alps in north Italy. From Mottarone you see two of Italy's biggest lakes, lago Maggiore and lago d'Orta. 

We took a walk and looked at the view. Then we had the most delicious lunch, a tipical plate from the Piemonte area called "pasticcio con verze e polenta". Yam yam.

It really was a beautiful and fun day! A bit cold but with a splendid sun.
