Best friends!

What is a best friend?

For me a best friend is someone I have known almost all my life. I have shared childhood, school years, graduations, first job, first boyfriend and all other important moments in my life. I can tell them the most silly things or problems and always get a good point of view or advises how to move on. They are the one happy for me when I am successful and sad for me when life feels hard. A best friend is someone who knows me perfectly well and loves me just for the one I am.

On the pictures above you see two of my best friends, Anna & Erika, that perfectly fit into the description I just gave. I have known then since more than 25 years of my life and we share the strongest kind of friendship.

We have good memories behind and a great future together to come.

Yesterday we had dinner in Erika's new and amazingly nice flat. Great evening talking about everything and nothing. I just wish I could spend more times like that with them...

Coffee & friends and long walks...

Below pics from coffee and friends where we went for lunch :-)
It is sweet little coffee place where all dogs are welcome to join and be free inside. Cool idea.

Today we had 12 degrees and sunshine here in Stockholm. Unfortunately quite windy which made it a bit chilly but it was nice for a long walk anyway.

Family dinner at Dalanisse

Normally when I travel to Stockholm I always fly late in the evening after work but yesterday I flew at lunch time so I arrived in Stockholm in the afternoon and had the whole evening free.

I took my parents with me and went to one of my favorite Scandinavian restaurants Dalanisse. Just the name is so sweet and the food is delicious. I had a kind of fish and sea food stew with aioli, really nice!

Today is another beautiful sunny day and I now I want to go out.

Holiday baby!

The sun is finally back in Milan but I say ciao ciao Itaky anyway!

Bringing with me 22 kg of winter clothes up to Stockholm and will bring me the wonderful light summer clothes back.

Happy Tuesday friends!

Aqua body combat

I am on holiday! Six long days of holiday just like that and for no real reason. I had to use a certain amount of holiday days until the end of April so here I go, 6 longs days of doing nothing?

Not really. Holiday for me normally means doing as much as possible not to spoil important time.

Today I got out of the office thinking HOLIDAY. The first thing I did when getting on the train was to start doing a long to do list of things... I have to do when getting back to work after the holiday. And I went on with the list until I arrived to the gym 45 minutes later. I know I am not normal.

However at the gym Silvia was waiting for me and in a hurry I got changed and dived into the pool together with her. Freezing. Until the body combat course in the water started that practically pulled off out arms and legs. Really good training and fun as well as the instructor looks like a real gangster kicking and hitting like mad in the air.

Then, the luxury part of the evening. SPA time! What is better than after a long workout getting out of the cold pool to get into the hot jacuzzi and let the water massage my painful and tired muscles. I just love it.

Now I have to get on with my packing... I am holiday right? :-)

Salsamenteria di Parma

Sorry for the blurry pictures! Not really sure why they turned out so bad but however, they are from my night out with Silvia, Ilaria and Debborah.

They are all my ex colleagues from Rinascente and even if I would never in life change my present job for my previous I remember the time there with joy and happiness, much thanks to these great girls.

Tonight we met up for a delicious and very typical Italian dinner at Salsamentieria di Parma.  We shared a mixed salumi plate as a starer followed by a pasta dish each. Gnam.

Even if Milan have had terrible weather both Saturday and Sunday I must say I have had a very nice weekend full of fantastic people.

Good night!

German dinner and zumba dancing

On a rainy and cold Saturday night I could easily have stayed in doing nothing. But my sweet friend Anne had different plans. Tim and her invited me and Stefano over for a pure German dinner - roasted mat, crauti and a mash of potatoes, sweet potatoes and carrots. A kind of strange mix of food but it was delicious! The mash was my favorite so now I gonna try to do it myself one day.

To digest the food we turned on zumba 2 on Nintendo wii. How fun was that? I have heard about it but had never tried it and I had never thought it would be that much fun. Luisa got wii at home as well but no zumba game, now I will convince her to buy it. I could do it for hours I guess. And  that wouldn't be only a fun way to spend an evening but it is also good training. I just have to get it!

The training of the week

As you might had noticed I am blogging much less when before. It is a little bit lack of time, then lack of inspiration and then irritation knowing the "wrong people" following the blog.

Anyway, as I know many of you like to follow my training diary I will add a little summery of this weeks training.

Tuesday: Total body workout with Silvia. It is a class that in out gym is famous for being very intensive and I had never tried it before. The instructor is Brazilian and he is crazy. The music is some kind of funky jazz house which was very cool. It was hard but lots of fun.

Thursday: Birkam yoga which went quite alright. My love and hate feelings for the bikram goes on and from time to time it brings me there.

Saturday: As it was raining heavily the whole day I didn't fancy to get out and go to the gym so I decided to do my workout at home. I did one of efit30´s 30 minutes pilates class. To see it click here. I love the efit30 site on yourtube. On there it is easy to find lots of good and fun workouts to do at home.

Sunday: I just got back home from Virgin Village. This morning it was time for the killing Nike club training club. It was very hard and challenging but the good instructor was back so it was quite fun.

So that´s it, four times training even if I must say that the Saturday training shouldn't be counted. I feel quite satisfied anyway!

Pimp your bikram class with some salt and minerals...

When the body loses too much salt we can experience tiredness, cramping, headaches and nausea.  This can easily happens when a person drinks big amounts of water or participates in activities that cause excessive sweating.

I am not a person that normally drinks a lot a water but when training I do. And during the day of my bikram session even more. And I normally try to avoid salt in my diet. I have always thought that was good but then I learned it is not.

Normally I believe the big amount of varied food I am eating would be enough when I go training but I have well learned that it is not when practising bikram as I keep sweating like never before throughout the whole yoga session.

So, yesterday I made myself a drink with extra sea salt, important minerals, vitamins and carbohydrate and I felt so much better after the yoga class than I normally do.

For the rest the bokram yoga class was as painful and a wonderful as always. I still feel the kind of love and hate feeling against it but every time I go I feel so great afterwards that I would like to go back the day after, like a drug that makes you feel good so you want more of it...

First aperitivo outside of the year

Something I really adore are warm evenings. Evenings when you can walk around without jackets and sit in a garden or at a terrace without being cold.

Lets say that today was on the limit... we had just above 20 degrees in the late evening and after drinking some icy cocktail I started to feel a bit cold. But it was wonderful anyway! I have been longing so much for the spring that I am not appreciating it so much.

After work I met up with Stefii who is in Milan and we went for a quick shopping tour (no I did not buy anything) and then to Bar Blanco for an aperitivo. It was my first time at Bar Blanco but I am glad I found it as it is quite close to my place and a great place to have a drink at summer time :-)
