Zumba and BBQ with Cicci

I still haven't decided which gym chain I will sign up to here in Stockholm and there for I haven't even started training yet. I am just eating a lot without exercising at all... So when Cicci asked me to join her for a zumba dancing session at her gym ACTIC GYM I obviously went along. Finally some dancing. Some moving. Some exercising even if it was on quite low levels. But it was fun!

After the training we decided to made a own little BBQ. Stockholm is still giving us a perfect summer weather so better take the opportunity so do things like BBQ's and stuff. We grilled meat, hallumi and vegetables and it was deliciously nice.

Above are the pics from the BBQ and below me before entering the zumba :-)

5th day living in Stockholm

Now I have been living in Stockholm five full days. It feels like more. There has been so many things going on this week. And so many new people to get to know and old friends to catch up with.

But still I kind of feel I am just here for like a holiday like I used to do. Normally, in the past 8 years I have been coming home for a week or so and then leave back to wherever I have been living.

However so far I feel very good. I like the studies I do and most of all I love having so many amazing people closely around me. Family and friends.

Yesterday I first met up Ioannis for a chai latte and long walk in town - pics above.

And in the evening I went for dinner in Johanna's "new" amazingly nice flat - pics below.

Studies and girl evening

Today has been all about studying and a girl evening.

Above are some pics from this morning when my mum walked with me almost all the way to school. The lovely Brunnsviken is now a new favourite for walking.

At university we have been divided into small groups to make a case study over four weeks of a specific fashion company. I am working with three sweet Danish girls and the company we gonna study is... have a guess what I choose.... H&M. I am so happy being able to do research about such interesting fashion group and I feel very motivated bring in all my best to this case study.

Then yesterday evening it was finally time for the girl evening at Erika's place. My super friend Erika is getting married in one week's time! I can't believe it. Little (she is 20 cm taller than me...) is getting married. The girl I met my first day in school when I was 6 years old. It feels so unreal but also amazing.

Last night we had a little get together with some of the girls coming to the wedding. We cooked. We ate. We drunk. We talked. We laughed. We played a fun music quiz. And we talked through some details of the wedding. Great fun night.

Above you see the park I pass when I walk to university each day.
It is a really quiet, peaceful and beautiful place.

Below is my dinner at "Kung Albert restaurant" from last night when I was out with Micael.

Welcome to Stockholm Mr Obama

Today Mr Barack Obama arrived to Stockholm. Such big thing for a small city as Stockholm. A big honour to have him here, to show our country and tell our ideas.

However, the town are for two days a big mess. The traffic is blocked in most part of the city and also the buses doesn´t go. It took me almost an hour more to get to university this morning.

After school I met up with Cicci for lunch. We hanged in the park, ate hamburgers and I studied a bit. The weather is great so better take the opportunity to be outside in these days.

Later on, after more studies I met up with Anna for a fika-dinner at Coffee house my George.

Cicci and Anna are two of my best friends. I have known both more than 30 years!! I feel so happy finally being close to them. Being able just to catch up whenever we want also with short notice as both my lunch and dinner date was today. :-)

Now I am off for my first seminar in school. Fingers crossed I will pass.

First day at uni, funeral and a nice sunset

Above is a picture of me, taking at 07.00 when I was on my way to my first lecture of the master studies in fashion marketing. It started at 08.00. Terrible time but I survived.

The fashion marketing class consists of more and less 90 students and 2 of 3 are international students, and much younger than me. The course itself seems to be very interesting. I am so pleased being back in Sweden being able to study all for free.

Then it was time for the funeral. Eivor, my grandmother's sister passed away few weeks ago and today it was time to say goodbye. It was a simple and very beautiful wedding. And I was happy meeting many of my relatives that I haven't seen since over 10 years.

In the afternoon I stayed home preparing for university tomorrow. And then I dragged out my mum and Stella for a long walk down to Hornbergs strand  to see the beautiful sunset.

Stockholm is really beautiful!

Moving to Stockholm

Yesterday was a really sad and stressful day. But I survived it!

With over 100 kg of luggage my mum, Cicci and myself managed to bring it all the way "home" to Stockholm without to much problems or overweight charges. Great.

So much emotions to leave Milan. I have had 3,5 amazing years. Very busy years full of challenges, great people, lots of travel around Italy, fun and happiness. And a thing is that I am leaving it all in the middle of a great period. Many people make changes when things doesn´t go well but I do this BIG change even if everything actually was going great.

I loved my job. And my colleagues. I enjoyed the gym. I had lots and really good friends. And my best friend Stefania has just moved back to Milan....

So why did I move? I decided it after the election in February. Italy has amazing people but I actually don't get the mentality. It is too much egocentric voting and thinking in the election and that kind of was the final push when deciding if moving home - something I have been thinking about since almost three years ;)

I love Italy! It is an amazing country. Delicious food, fun people and a real beautiful country. Another big plus is the weather.

But I love Sweden as well. I do believe I belong here. My future should be here. So now it is time to get it a try... HELLO Stockholm!

LAST NIGHT in MILAN

The hat-trick

 Pizza with Matteo and Fabrii

And one more important and sad good bye... to Matteo, who's been my friend for more than nine years and the one I have known longest here in Milan.

Good byes are so hard. And it gets even harder when I am already sad for leaving Italy. And then my greatest friends. My job. So much emotions tonight.

It will be hard to leave tomorrow. But I keep my fingers crossed I will feel good landing at home in Stockholm. Having family and childhood friends around.

Buona notte Milano. Ti voglio bene.

Pizza at Spontini with the Swedish gang and Stefano

One more important and hard good bye to my great friend Stefano. I brought him along for lunch with the Swedes at Spontini.

Five Swedes at ristorante Basilico Fresco

For quite a while Basilico Fresco has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Milan. The food is delicious, it is close to my home and it has quite good prices. I have been so many times during my time here in Milan so I just had to go a last time before leaving...

..so I brought along my Swedish gang for a lovely dinner together.
