2013-02-11 in Stockholm

I am back in a snowy and cold Milan. Right now I am, as always when I leave Stockholm, sad to be back but I guess and hope I will feel better tomorrow when I get back to work.
Below are pics from my half day in Stockholm.

"Dog fika" at cafe Brasco

In stockholm there are not many places where you can bring the dog with you. Actually in most shops, restaurants and bars it is prohibited to bring the dog in. Not like Milan where dogs are welcome everywhere... :-)
Anyway there are few specific places the dogs are welcomd and cafe Brasco is one of them. My mum, dad, Stella and I went there today for a yammi lunch.

Girl dinner at Waan Thai

It is has really become a pure tradition that I bring out my best friends for a Thai dinner every time when I get home to Stockholm. I am spending lots of time to find a new and nice Thai restaurant every time I come. Many of the thai restaurants in Stockholm are mostly take away places with just a few places to sit so it is not overly easy to find new good ones every time.

Yesterday we had a good shut anyway. We could all agree that Waan Thai was very nice both as a restaurant and that the food was delicious. It reaches the top 3 of my favorite thai restaurants in Stockholm together with Narknoi and most famous one Khophangan.

It is always so nice to spend some time with "my girls". I miss them so much being down in Milan by myself. But hey, it makes it extra nice to meet up when we can :-)

Vurma with Johanna

Today for lunch I met up with Johanna at Vurma. Vurma is a coffee chain in Stockholm that I love and today I went to The Vurma I like most - the one at Gästrikegatan.
I had a my favorite sandwich Ängel and Johanna took a salmon sallad. The funny thing is all the choices you get around every dish you order. Typ of bread, sallad, cheeses and the millions types of tea. I love it.

Dinner at Restaurang TVÅ

After lots of discussions of where to go for dinner we ended up trying out a restaurant called "TVÅ" on Rörstrandsgatan. It is close to my mums place and it has been there since quite a while but none of us had ever been there before...

I was very happy finding out it was a great place. The food was absolutely delicious, the prices average high and the service was excellent. The only negative thing was the Tiramisu dessert that wasn´t very good at all.

Both my mum and I had a mixed fish and seafood stew plate with garlic bread and aioli which was absolutely fantastic!

2013-02-08 in Stockholm

Friday in Stockholm. Cold (-2), windy and snowy - but that kind of irritating snow that feels like small ice pieces in the air than soft snow. In other words, not a really nice day to be outside.

I went to the doctor in the morning for a complete check plus a blood test. Good to do from time to time.

Then I met up with mum in town and went shopping. Bough some training clothes and a pair of nice Tiger of Sweden jeans. We had lunch at Kungshallen where mum ate the biggest plates of noodles I have ever seen and I took a grilled mixed place with chicken, vegetables, fries and salsas. I ate as much as I could of the gigantic plate until I felt the chicken pop out of my ears.

I love to go shopping in Stockholm during the week when there isn't too much people around and you get perfect service in the stores.

Welcome to Arlanda Stockholm airport

I have landed. I slept the whole flight. Stockholm is white and not as cold as I thought it would be :-)
God natt

Off for a February trip to Stockholm

I rarely travel home to Stockholm in February. Actually I normally don't travel anywhere in February as I don't really like the weathet February offers...
But now I am in Malpensa airport waiting for SAS to bring me home to snowy Stockholm where I gonna have a nice long weekend with my parents, friends and Stella (the new family member).
I am very very much looking forward to it.

Burger, relax and packing

Tonight was supposed to be the big Birkam Yoga night. I cancelled it. I feel a bit guilty as I believe it is important to go regularly to be able to get any better in it. But I didn' feel perfectly well and had things to do at home so I cancelled the lesson...

Instead I got home. Packed my bags for today - I am off to Stockholm tonight - had a long bath, starting to read a new book and just relaxed for a while. Later I met up with a friend and went down to the Irish pub underneath my house for a yammi hamburger.

Lazy evenings are important from time to time!

My first Samba lession ever

Jezez crist. Yesterday Silvia and I went for our first "latino style dance class" at Virgin. I was thinking it would be like a fitness class with latino music. Doooh. I was wrong. At least yesterday it was nothing like that. It was a pure samba dancing class learning the basics in Samba.

The teacher is a Brazilian guy with impressive dancing skills. He´s able to move like he was made of some kind of soft plastic and I felt like a piece of wood looking first at him and then at myself. With all the dancing I have done in my like I feel I should be quite alright in whatever dancing style I try but yesterday I realized that that is not the case. I was crap.

Samba is a Brazilian dance with roots from Rio de Janeiro. It is famous world wide as the symbol of the Brazilian Carnival. There is a whole culture around samba including different dance variaties, food, parties and amazing clothes/customs.

Samba for me is too quick. Too energetic. And too much moving/rolling the bum that I am not able to do. But it is fascinating and for sure lots of fun.

Now I now I will have every Tuesday booked for the next four months as I will need lots of practice of these latino dance styles. I want to learn! I can´t be impossible? Thinking about it my friend I was out eating sushi with this Sunday is a professional samba ballerina... maybe she can give me some hints and tricks? If there are any? Or maybe it is just pure skills...
