Kvinnorna på 10:e våningen - Karin Alfredsson

This is the second book by Karin Alfredsson I read. It is another a story about the Swedish Doctor Ellen Elg and this time she is in Vietnam.

The book tells you stories about prostitutes, child vendors, women's non-value in Vietnam and shows that almost everything can be bough by money. What you get from your society depends on how much money you got...

This is a thriller and it makes me furious. The world is so unfair and it makes me cry when I think about how some people has to accept their lives.

Also this time Karin Alfredsson manage to get her message out in a clear and easy way of reading. I loved this book as much as Pojken i hiss 54 that I read before Christmas.

Crap Saturday night

Yesterday started off so good. Gym, good lunch, self treats and then some shopping...

Got home (with a headache) and started to prepare the dinner while I was choosing the outfit for the evening. Stephanie and Sara was coming over for dinner and then we were supposed to go to Jazz Cafe and I was very much looking forward to it....

Got on with my cooking and got the make up on. Headache got worse.

Kept preparing the dinner until I feel like dying. The head was exploding. I got fever and could hardly stand up anymore. Called to cancel the dinner with the girls. I was sad.

Put the dinner into the fridge and got myself some snacks. I wasn't hungry. Tried to read but my eyes couldn't read the words. Tried to watch a movie but couldn't have the sound on as my head felt like killing me.

Went to bed at 10pm. That is what I call a crap Saturday night.

Givenchy black masque

I look terrible, I know. But I just adore this black face masque from Givenchy. Now when I finished it all I am desperate as I don't wanna spend the 80 euros (or more?) that this face masque costs even if I really want it.... Luxury problems eh? :)

A zombie at the gym

I went to bed at 01am last night and put the alarm at 10am this morning. 9 hours of sleeping but I don´t think it was enough... I got up feeling like a zombie. And like a zombie I went to the gym and attended a body tone class that made me kind of wake up.

I love exercising in the morning. I might not perform as good as I do in the afternoon or in the evening but it is such a great start of the day!

Learning Chinese while eating...

It has been one of the worst and busiest weeks at work ever. Yesterday I got out from the office at 8om after 11 hours of work and I was exhausted. The real Friday night plans was impossible so instead I picked up Anna and we went for a quiet dinner at one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, Jubin.

Different step training

Today when we were slightly less people at the body killing training class "body burn and sculpty" the instructor let us try the weird step thingy I so many times have seen in one corner of the room. As you can see from the picture above it is round, it is a bit soft and can be used either as you see it or up side down which makes it slightly unstable to make you practice the balance.

I don´t know what the round step thingy is called but I kind of liked it. It was much harder than a normal step as it was a bit soft and I enjoyed just jumping up and down on it. Felt like a jumping kid. Now my legs are dead but it was fun to try something new.

 Francii, Fede and I

Tired Maria in the early hours...

Our New Years eve consisted of a fantastic almost 6 hours long dinner. We were, I think, 16 people, some new faces some old friends, plus two pretty dogs.

The couple organizing the dinner must have been preparering for hours as everything was very well planned and everything was delicious, just slightly too much. My favorite part of the dinner was the started with was a massive mix of hams, salamis. cheeses, salsas and crackers from all parts of Italy. It was so nice that I almost ate myself full just of all those things. That was followed by two types of pasta, followed by the main meat and vegetables plate and we ended by different kinds of cakes and liqueurs.

No rushes to nightclubs or problems in traffic. No stressful fireworks. Just great people and good food and that it how I think a New Years Eve should be!

Pictures from Francii's place. I never have enough of taking pics from that amazing terrace.

Happy New Year friends! :) I just got back from my 24 hour trip to Genova and I must say I am very satisfied with my new years eve and the whole stay in Genova. Yesterday the weather was amazing and it was nice to see the sea for a while...

Now I just gonna have shower and unpack my things then I'll add some photos from New years Eve.
