Think twice before you choose your drink...

I actually rarely drink other things than water with my meals. For breakfast I drink milk. But in the evenings when going out for aperitivo or just "going for drinks" with friends I normally take fruit cocktails without alcohol, that would be number three on this board. What's that, 100 grams of pure sugar, ish. I wish I would never had seen this picture ;)

No pain no gain

Random pic from the web
I have been to the gym every day this week and I have done a good mix of courses like tone, step, yoga and body pumping. Today was the last day at the gym before my holiday and I went there very motivated and pushed myself extra hard. My arms were aching when I left the gym and I felt a bit sore but now after a nice fish and vegetables dinner I feel much better.

On Saturday I am off to Sweden for a nice 8 days holiday and except some yoga I won't exercise at all and I gonna let my body rest. When I am back I gonna push myself even harder :)

Now I gonna start to do the packing list and some other must do's before holiday.

Office Easter celebration

Tomorrow is actually working day here in Italy but as we work closely with Sweden and America many people will be off like them... So today we had a little Easter get-together in the office with the Italian Colomba Easter cake and champagne (+ ice tea for pregnant women plus me:).

Proud of myself

Today I finished the financial balancing  for the month end and I did it all by myself. Now I am off to the yoga course and I feel so proud of myself! I have been really struggling earlier months, that's why :)

Little Limerick reunion with Andrea and Matteo

Pics from Limerick 2004

Yesterday after the gym I went out for a very late dinner with Andrea and Matteo, two of my Italian friends since I studied in Ireland in 2004. During my semester in Ireland I hanged out every day with Johanna (Swedish), Andrea and Matteo (Italians) and it was so sad to say good bye after all the good moments we had shared together. Nowadays I am still in touch with all of them but it is only Matteo, who lives here in Milan as well, that I see on a regular bases. That's why it was extra fun to go out for dinner with Andrea and Matteo together yesterday, only Johanna was missing so make the evening perfect.

Military training

Pic taken randomly from the web...

Training should be fun, always! No matter if it's hard or easier, complicated or simple in group or alone, it should always be fun to go training. I always love to go to the gym and I guess that's everyone in the gym knows me; the girl that comes 3-4 times a week, always stands in the front of the class with a big smile on her face. That's me, I enjoy every minute of it even if it's hard, if it hurts or if it's too complicated I still think it's fun, a challenge. Yesterday that wasn't the case... One of the best instructors in the gym, the dance teacher, came up with the brilliant (not) idea of having a military training session. A whole hour with hard exercises where we had to change position every time she clap her hands. No good music, no smiling and no good mood.  It was nothing fun about it as it more felt like we were a bunch of prisoners than exercising girls. My legs, shoulders and abs got themselves the hardest training ever I guess but I didn't enjoy a single second of the class and I didn't feel good when walking out of the gym either. That is not how training should be!

So tonight I have to go back to the gym, not because I want to, I actually don't fancy it at all after the pain yesterday...  But exactly like when you fall off a horse or fall while skiing, you have to get up and do it again because otherwise you create a bad feeling about it in your mind that later will be hard to get rid of. So it's a must. Go on girl!

Parco Sampione with Cicci

Had lunch picnic in the park and then we walked around town all day. Not as warm as yesterday but a nice day anyway. Now I gonna join Cicci to the station and she will fly back to Sweden and I will go for dinner with Torri....

Dinner at Al Basilico Fresco

We came back from the lake starving as we only had ice cream for lunch. We went directly searching for a restaurant as we walked from the central station towards my place. Strange enough we realized that nowadays there are more sushi and fusion restaurants around in Milan than real Italian restaurants and if they are Italian they were pizzerias.

In the end we walked almost all the way home and went to one of my favorite Italian ones close to my place, Al Basilico Fresco, where I had a big surprise. The place that used to be a simple family restaurant had been completely reconstructed and it is now a quite fancy restaurant with only posh people dining and champagne offered to everyone waiting for a table. However, the staff, the menu and the food was still the same and we enjoyed a very delicious dinner.

Beautiful Verbania

Saturday 30th of March and 27 degrees sunshine weather. What could be a better day for going to the lake? We left quite late around lunch time and took the train 1,5 hour away to the "Lago Maggiore" (Maggiore lake) and Verbania. I have been to other places by the Maggiore lake before like Stresa, Arona and the islands. Excluding the islands that were all so beautiful, pretty and charismatic, Verbania was the most beautiful and most clean and organized town along the lake, and also the biggest.

We walked around along the lake and the city centre and later on we laid down by the lake and just enjoyed the sun. Very nice day and I hope to be able to go back to Verbania some time again.
