Capolungo beach

At Capolungo beach outside Genova
33 degrees and not a cloud, a perfect beach day in other words

Our friends on the boat, and we had to swim all the way there to get on the boat...

Nicest located aperitivo bar ever!

Italy cocktail

Aperitivo time...

The whole gang together

Good night Genova, hope to see you very soon again

A picture is worth a thousand words right? I have once again had the most amazing day down the Liguria coast with Francii and her friends. Liguria is my favorite coast in Italy and every time I leave I immediately want to go back.

I wonder how it would be to live down there? I also wonder how the job market looks like?

I got up at 06 this morning to get away in time for my day trip so now I am very tired. I a little bit regret that I didn't stay down in Genova over the night but I need to rest. I have a very very hard week in front of my next week...

Buona notte Italia! Tomorrow is a big day!

Ps. pics from the boat will come up in the next days

Cardio After Weights

I have always in my whole life been doing first cardio (cycle, cross or running machine) as a warm up and then weight. The other day my personal trainer at the gym told me to, at least once a week, do the opposite. According to him the mix is to one day start of with cardio and then move on to the weights or a body pump class and then the day after do the opposite... Start of with the weights to get the muscles pumping before going on with the cardio.

Reading online now I see that the newest trend is to always to weights first followed by the cardio as that mix would get the best effect, You are never to old to learn something new, right :)

Read this article about it

Time to shower and then sleep. Tomorrow I am getting up at 06 to go to the seaside.

Italy vs Germany - also in the office

My beautiful and football loving colleagues Anna and Anne know how to support their teams/countries in the best way :)

A quite big day

Good morning sunshines...
Yesterday evening I was so focused on the football game so I didn't have time to blog. I supported Spain but as I thought Portugal played better I was disappointed when Spain in the end won on penalties.
Today will be a busy day at work and I need to stay focused to be able to do all the things I need to do. But I am convinced that today will be a good day. After work it's gym time and after the gym..... the B I G game Germany - Italy. I am already nervous.

Have a great day everyone!

Challange day number 2

Back at the gym for another run! To say I gonna do it every day would be promising too much but I will try to go as much as possible. Also because 30 minutes are not that much so I manage to go to the gym, run, stretch, get home and have a shower all in one hour which is not bad at all...

Today I did more interval training (will do it for two weeks) consisted of one minute walking and five minutes running for 30 minutes. It means that in the whole end I only run 1 minute more than yesterday  but I persisted for longer every time... I know that 30 minutes it's nothing for a "runner" bur for me it is more than enough and my goal is to be able to run 30 minutes without any walking breaks at all!

Now my upper legs feels like dying and the text on the picture is so true, I feel like quitting but this is my challenge, my competition against myself so I will go one!

Running - My new big challenge

I hate running! I have almost always hated go running but I have had periods when I have enjoyed it... Like when I went running in the Karlberg's park when I was young or along the themes river in London. Since arriving to Italy I have only been running a couple of times and I have hated it equally every time. I get so tired, I looses my breath and I also think it is so boring. Isn't it strange, I can easily do 2 hours of aerobic but I can't go running for 10 minutes....

But you guys have told me I should find myself a new training challenge and here it is; running! I won't be easy in the beginning but that is the challenge, right? I am the one that have added limits to myself saying that running is not good for me for my knee injury, for my asthma or other ridiculous reasons. Some of worlds champions in running are asthmatic and most of them have had different injuries as well.

So today I started my new challenge at the gym (can't go running outside as it is far too hot). My distance personal training, Erika, put up a great interval training exercise for me. I did 1 minute walking and then 3 minutes running, 1 minute walking and 3 minutes running and I went on like that for 32 minutes. I felt so good with myself after those 32 minutes that I celebrated by attending the one hour dance class afterwards.

I will do that kind of 1-3 interval training three times and then slowly increase the running minutes. Who knows, maybe I will be able to go out for a one hour run one day? That would be a big step for me!

I have been good!

Also tonight I have finally manage to book my summer holidays, finally! It has been a challenge as well and it is a big relief to finally have it all booked!

Villa Taranto and the Maggiore lake

Lunch stop by the lake in Intra

Botanic garden "Villa Taranto"

Ice cream stop in Verbania

And the last stop in Stresa

In few words we have seen many extremely beautiful places today, included the most beautiful botanic garden I have ever seen "Villa Taranto". The weather was hot (32 degrees) but thanks god cloudy so we manage to walk around all day.
