Bye bye Steppy aka carota

Last night it was time for another sad goodbye. Stephanie, who's been part of my Milanese life almost from the beginning is leaving Milan and going abroad as well.

But I am trying not to be sad. I am sure we will meet again. Either in Austria, Italy or Sweden. We are two international girls who don't think twice before getting a flight ticket to go away for some days :-)

Bye bye SVP Europe, Singer and VSM Group

And then the day arrived. My last day at my work at SVP Europe.  Or should I call it Singer Corporation? Or Vsm Group? Or Vsm Norge? A beloved child has many names, right? :-)

I have been working as an accounts payable accountant for almost two years. Two years full of challenges, hard working and fun. I don't know if I ever learned as much as I have here in anywhere before, not even at university.

I have had extremely stressful month endings and even worth the year closure. The beginning was hard as it was so much things I had to learn in a very short period. But then suddenly I grow into the role. I made it mine. I organized things how I wanted them, I worked very independently and set up own deadlines. Then I started to love my job and I have actually always felt happy walking to the office.

I've been having so fantastic colleagues which is another reason for feeling so good when going to the office in the mornings. I have been working closely with few colleagues in my office down in Milan but even more with people up in different nordic offices in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Having contact with so many different people has also been really challenging and fun.

Well, like in most work places obviously it has have its dark moments but today I walked out of the office with only positive feelings and my memories will only be good. Colleagues, managers and directors all wished me good luck and even told me I was welcome back. I could´t have had a better end and I am so pleased about that.

There is something I have been having lots of luck with these years abroad. Or actually in my whole like. FRIENDS: I have met so many wonderful people in my life and even if I then take my things and move away my true friends always stays close to my heart.

In the photos above most of my closest Milanese friends are collected for a last night with me. An aperitivo all together at Bobino. Just few still away on holidays are missing.

I had a great evening. Tried to talk a bit to everyone and carefully say goodbye to everybody. I cried by the end of the night saying goodbye. I hate goodbyes. I can't stand it.

I must say my 3,5 years in Milan has been fantastic! Great experiences. I met amazing people. And just enjoyed Italy that will always remain my favourite country in the world.

I just got back from a really really fun weekend with Stefania at Marina di Ravenna on the east coast. We left on Friday afternoon and have had two really busy days full of food, friends, beaches and fun. 

It was many years ago since I last went to Marina di Ravenna and I must say it has changed. It has become much more fancy in some kind of way.

We spent lots of time with Stefania's friend Valentina and her big group of like 15 friends. 

On Friday we went out to the most famous night club Matilda. Yesterday Stefii and I spend the day sun batching at Singita and in the afternoon we met up with the group for after beach parties. That is the thing that impressed me the most in Marina di Ravenna - the after beach parties along the whole long beach. One place after another with different kinds of music and entertainment. So much fun.

Then yesterday night we went all the way to Milano Marittina and to the night club Villa Papete. It was nice but not as fantastic as everyone say it would be. I had a great evening anyway!

Now I am back in Milan. Outside it is raining and I have to spend the evening packing and cleaning....
