Unhealthy Roman delicacies from Sorchettaro at 04am

As I've heard about the tradition to stop for a cornetto or other unhealthy things after a night out I obviously had to try it... So Stefii took me to one of the most famous place "Il sorchettaro" and we bought two overly sweet things and ate them...

But as I'm not a big fan of these kinds of things I felt sick after just a half one. Ish. Not for me. Where is a 24/7 open MC Drive in this country? I miss it!

Dinner at "C'era una volta"

After being around town for hours Stefii and I have just enjoyed a very nice pizza dinner at a restaurant close to her place. I had a own baked broschetta, fiore di zucca fritto and a very thin buffula pizza. Gnam gnam.

Now we gonna go home, to get ready and then we're going out dancing. Will be the first time I'm going to a night club in Rome :)

In memory of President Aldo Moro

...that was kidnapped and his five bodyguards were killed just outside my grandmothers house in 1979. Scary story!

Now I'm off to town to go shopping with Stefii. Jippiii!!

18 years old dog

This is FLY, my grandmother's little poodle. I remember when I was 12 years old playing around with her when she was a little puppy. Now she's 18 years old; she deaf and almost blind and all she does is to follow my grandmother around the house, eat a bit and sleep. For sure she's a life fighter! :)

One of the world's best chefs

= My grandmother!!
I don't think I know anyone that can cook such amazing Italian food like my grandmother can.

Maybe it's good that I'm only staying one day with her otherwise I'll go back to Milan big as a sumo :)

Buongiorno Roma!

Good morning. I can't remember when I relaxed as much as I've been able to do the last 22 hours in my grandmother's house.

I've been drinking tea, talking to my grandmother and her husband, eating a lot, reading my book and I slept 10 hours tonight. So nice! The kind of holiday I would need more often.

Now my grandmother is cooking one of her amazing meals so soon we'll have lunch and afterwards I'm off to the centre to meet Stefii.

Dinner at La Pallotta

Tonight I've been out for dinner with my grandmother and her husband. We went to La Pallotta which is one of my favourite restaurants in the summer (when we sit outside), now we had to sit inside and it's not as nice as sitting in their beautiful farden.

However the food was still very very nice. I had a bruschetta for starter and a saltimbocca alla romana as a main course. Yam yam.

Now I'm back in my grandmothers flat watching coppa Italia Juventus K ROMA with Franco (my grandmothers husband).

Forza Roma!! :)

Arrived in Rome!

Now I'm in my grand mothers place in Rome. I gonna rest a bit as I'm really tired and then spend the afternoon and evening with my grand mother.
The flight was quick and on time. Malpensa's security was it's normal and they let me through with both a bottle of water, a razor and a pincett....
I sat next to a talkative american glamour model girl on the plan that told me everything about her 'sex and the city life' in NY. Quite funny. But as I didn't manage to sleep on the plan I gonna take an hour to sleep now.

The 90/91 busses in Milan

The busses number 90 and 91 are ones circulation around Milan centre. Number 90 takes the clockwise direction and number 91 the opposite direction and they both goes 24 hours a day. Very clever idea! The busses are big, clean and goes regulary.

The only problem is that is looks like a circus on these busses. Doesn't matter what time of the day you take the bus; there are always such strange people on it. The passagers which are on these busses are more international than tha airport bus;you see all kinds of nationalities, dressed in all kinds of way and they talks/screams in all different languages you can ever imagne. On top of that you have the homeless people sleeping in a corner of the bus and foreigner kids working as pickpockets (so better hold you bad close).

I rather walk alone through Milan by night instead of taking this bus. It's that awful!

However as my airport lift angrily rushed out of our house at 04 am this morning I had to take the bus 91 to the station.... On the bus I had one of those moments when I start wonder why I choose to live in Italy......?

Yam yam breakfast

As we had an ill-mannered guest in the house tonight that manage to eat up (when we didn't see) our mozzarellas and ham which was meant for our planned piadina breakfast we had to go out for breakfast this morning. We went to the bakery close to our house and got a good mix of yammi croissants, cookies and buns. I miss my normal "salty" sandwish breakfast but I can admit that newly baked delicaries are very good too.... ;)
